上げてよかった Firefox 1.5.0.1

ちょい前まで、Firefox 1.0.7を使っていたのですが、最近、何気なく、Firefox 1.5.0.1にバージョンアップしました。

ん、なんとなく使い易い。。。
メーラー内のLinkクリックした時の動作が、変わってるかも？
クリックしても、開いてたページがなくなってないかも？

と思って調べてみると、Firefox1.5では、こんなRFEがインプリされてました。

275430 - Change default for "open links from other applications" to be "a new tab in the most recent window" instead of "the most recent tab/window".

I think this is the only pref I have changed in firefox.

Let me explain why I'm requesting this change:

I usually don't know which is the "the most recent tab/window" without checking first. with the default value for this pref, I usually have to create a new blank tab before I will click on a link in another application, for fear that it will replace something I'm in the middle of reading (or submitting).

I wonder if others have the same experience? Now that I've changed this pref, I am one happy customer.

この人の言うことには、strongly agree です。

いっぱいブラウザのWindowやら、Tabやら開いていると、「どこで開いてたかな～」と探してしまうんですよね。　特定のWindow/TabでのBackボタン押さないと見たいページ、出てこないし、挙句の果てに、見つからなくて、またメーラーに戻って、押しなおし。んで、また別のページで同じことの繰り返し。。。というアホなことを繰り返してました。

この回避のために、新しいPage/Tabを開いて、ばちこーいって準備するのもめんどくさいし、馬鹿らしい。

確かに、この機能のデフォルトは、a new tab in the most recent windowsであったほうがはるかに使いやすいと思います。

以前のバージョンに、下記の選択肢あったのかは、定かではないですが、1.5には、Tabの動きの選択として下記のFeatureがあります。
